Description
Epidendrum jativae (also called 'Jativa's Epidendrum', among many other common names) is a species of orchid native to Colombia. It is found in wet montane forests at elevations of 1,000 to 2,000 m. It has a sympodial growth habit and produces long, thin stems with several leaves. The inflorescence is a terminal raceme of small, yellow flowers.
Uses & Benefits
Epidendrum jativae is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and as a houseplant. It is also used in traditional medicine to treat fever, headaches, and stomachaches.
