Description
Lepanthes aprica (also called 'Freckled Lepanthes', among many other common names) is a species of orchid found in Central and South America. It has small, white flowers with a yellow lip. It is native to Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela. It typically grows in humid montane forests at elevations of 1000-2500 m.
Cultivation and Propagation
Lepanthes aprica is a small epiphytic orchid species native to Central and South America. It is found growing in wet montane forests at elevations of 500-2000 meters. It prefers bright, indirect light and high humidity. Propagation is done by division of the rhizome or by seed. Seeds should be sown on a medium of sphagnum moss and kept in a warm, humid environment.
