It has short, cylindrical pseudobulbs and long, narrow leaves. It is found in humid forests, often in shady areas, and is found in the countries of Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela.
