Description
Paphiopedilum cornuatum (also called Horned Paphiopedilum, among many other common names) is a species of flowering plant in the family Orchidaceae. It is a small epiphytic orchid with a single, fleshy, oblong leaf and a single, erect, yellowish-green flower. It is native to New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. It grows in humid, shady forests, often on the trunks of trees.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
Paphiopedilum cornuatum has large, white flowers with yellow anthers. The seeds are small, black and circular. The seedlings have long, narrow leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Paphiopedilum cornuatum is a tropical epiphytic orchid native to the rainforests of Southeast Asia. It is an easy to grow plant that can be grown in a pot or mounted on a slab of wood. It requires bright, indirect light and should be watered regularly. Propagation is done by division of the mature plants.
