Description
Pleurothallis duplex (also called 'Duplex' or 'Duplex Pleurothallis', among many other common names) is a small epiphytic orchid with a single, erect stem, reaching up to 1 cm in height. It is native to Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, and is found in humid montane forests at elevations of 1,000 to 2,000 m.
Flower, Seeds and Seedlings
The flower of Pleurothallis duplex is small and white with a yellow lip. The seed is a small, black, round seed that is about 1mm in diameter. The seedlings are small and thin with white stems and green leaves.
Cultivation and Propagation
Pleurothallis duplex is an epiphytic orchid native to Central and South America. It can be grown in a potting mix of bark, sphagnum moss, and perlite. It prefers bright, indirect light and should be watered regularly. Propagation is done through division of the plant or by seed.
